Privacy Policy

This policy covers Stash (macOS) and StashGo (iOS, iPadOS), built by SmartDojo. The short version: we do not collect your data. Your snippets never leave your devices except through your own iCloud account, which we cannot see into.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. Stash and StashGo do not require an account, do not include analytics or advertising SDKs, and do not send your snippets, folders, or images to SmartDojo servers. There are no SmartDojo servers that store your content, because there aren't any content servers at all.

Where your data lives

Your snippets, folders, and images are encrypted on your device and synced through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, in a private database scoped to you. The encryption key is generated on your device and stored in your iCloud Keychain, shared only between your own devices. SmartDojo has no access to your vault, your key, or your iCloud account.

Support logs

Stash and StashGo include an optional, off-by-default diagnostic logging feature for troubleshooting. When enabled, log lines record which feature ran (for example, a clipboard capture or a sync step) and never include snippet contents or encryption keys. Logs stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded automatically. If you contact support about a problem, you can choose to export a log file yourself and attach it to your message; we only see it if you send it.

Purchases

StashGo's in-app purchases and Stash's subscription (if applicable) are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We receive a purchase receipt to confirm your entitlement; we never see your payment card, billing address, or Apple ID password.

Optional cloud AI

On-device AI transforms use Apple Intelligence and run entirely on your device. If you choose to add your own API key for a third-party AI provider, the specific text you transform is sent directly from your device to that provider using your key, under that provider's own privacy terms. SmartDojo does not see or relay that traffic.

Children's privacy

Stash and StashGo are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because we do not collect data at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it in the app's release notes.
